Adams Silva & McNally LLP seeks exceptional 2L law clerks who are passionate about education law for our 2027 summer law clerk program. We have openings in our Carlsbad and El Segundo offices.

Law clerks work along side senior attorneys in ASM’s robust Labor & Employment, Special Education, Students, Charter Schools, and Investigations practice areas, among others. Law clerks receive substantive assignments and are paired with a senior attorneys who provide direct, ongoing feedback and guidance. CURRENT OPENINGS
Our summer law clerks are integrated into the work of the firm from day one, assisting with assignments across a range of practice areas. ASM is committed to providing the highest quality legal services to our clients, and to making a lasting, positive impact on education throughout California. We are seeking candidates who share that commitment, along with the skill and diligence to support our attorneys’ work at the highest standard.
Pay Range: $2,200.00 per week for full-time summer employment

HOW TO APPLY

ASM is seeking an attorney with a background in education law, public agency representation, labor and employment, or a closely related practice area. Candidates with experience at a school district, County Office of Education, or education law firm are strongly encouraged to apply.
You will advise clients on day-to-day legal matters, draft board policies and resolutions, and represent districts in administrative proceedings and hearings — taking on responsibility early, with senior attorney mentorship and support throughout. If you are looking for a practice where your contributions are visible and your development is intentional, ASM wants to hear from you.
This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, with an annual pay range of $130,000 to $180,000.

This long-term contract role is designed for an experienced attorney seeking substantive, flexible work in public agency or education law. You will be integrated into ASM’s practice, working alongside our attorneys, advising clients, and contributing to matters across the firm’s practice areas. This engagement carries a genuine potential path to employment status for the right candidate. This position offers a competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience, with a pay range of $100.00 – $130.00 per hour.
What This Role Includes

- Flexible schedule — approximately 15–25 hours per week

Attorney positions are open in El Segundo and Carlsbad, CA. Remote and/or hybrid opportunities available for the appropriate candidates.
